Program Information

The PHMESF is offering scholarships to qualified students in each of our seventeen masonic Districts. These awards are made to students who will attend four-year colleges and universities, community colleges, or vocational schools. Award payments are made directly to the student, and students are responsible for sending updated address information, verification of enrollment and income, transcripts, or enrollment certification by the stated deadlines in order to receive their award payments.

Who May Apply?
Any high school senior or a recent graduate of a high school in the State of California. Students can complete their applications online, or request a pdf application from phmesf@gmail.com.

If submitting an electronic application, it will be forwarded to the lodge that you designate for review. Please make sure that you select the lodge that is in your area of residence. You must upload all required information. If submitting a paper application, it must be completed and returned to the local lodge. All applications must be signed by the student and by a parent or guardian certifying family income and permitting the release of student information.

Students are to submit completed applications by NO LATER THAN JUNE 1, 2024.

Lodges must ensure that all scholarship applications have ALL documents required for review. This includes the official transcript, a copy of the students SAT or ACT scores; if available, the required essay, and a teacher’s assessment.

Lodges are to review all applications received and forward them to their District Deputy Grand Master (DDGM) no later than June 30, 2024.

By July 27, 2024, the top three applications from each district are to be forwarded to the PHMESF. One awardee will be chosen from each district.

Award notification will be sent to the DDGM’s by August 24, 2024. Each DDGM will then notify the lodge and the winner of the scholarship regarding the requirements for the award.

Scholarship payments will be made after the awardee has submitted verification of their school enrollment and income verification to the PHMESF by no later than September 30, 2024. The initial award payments will be issued October 5, 2024.

If you have any questions regarding the PHMESF, please contact us at phmesf@gmail.com.
